O Little Creative Christmas Competition
One of my peers hosts a bacon extravaganza, in which employees are asked to create an original dish with bacon at its center. Aside from the easy titles of PORK-IN-ATE-ORE (Pork roast stuffed with sausage, rapped in bacon, cooked only by charcoal) to the Kevin Bacon (which I still have no idea what it was but it had bacon) these fun activities promote creativity, help with inner office interaction, and are huge morale boosters (because Bacon).
In our own office, we have hosted similar cooking challenges, ironically followed by weight-loss challenges, and have had some fun conversations/lunches in regards to both. But every year we have one competition that as a whole we enjoy so much more.
The Christmas Card Competition
Yes, we are completely aware that it is 53 days till Christmas, but if the major retailers can do it so can we
All employees are given strict guidelines: Must be 6" x 9" and about Christmas - On Your Own Time
Some of those guidelines are followed and some bent, but each individual showcased skills, artistic abilities, and some humor. What the judges spoke about the most was the diverse methods of creating the cards from CAD based programs , Photoshop, and hand drawn masterpieces.
While there are some pretty cool cards above, below are the winners of the competition in order of Honorable Mention, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st.
We hope that you received some joy out of this blog. After all, the holidays can be stressful, but we ask that you remember that it is a time to be thankful and enjoy the company of those around you (even at your family functions).
Feel free to leave us comments about your favorites. Early Merry Christmas to you and yours.
