Expansion: The Kent Street Project
The City of Bryan's Kent Street Project focused on extending the street from Memorial Drive to Broadmoore Street, both of which are major collectors near the St. Joseph Medical Center. In order to increase fluidity of traffic to and from the medical center and around that area, Kent Street was elongated to provide a connection between the roads. The construction cost of the project totaled about $450,000.00.
The project included approx. 1,200 LF of concrete roadway, a new 8" sidewalk for the high pedestrian traffic near the hospital. Drainage facilities included a dual 6' x 8' box culvert, approx. 400' long and approx. 800 LF of waterline. The top of the box culvert was used as the roadway pavement.
